The Frederic Chopin Socia Celebrating Our 26th Season

SHAI WOSNER

Sunday, May 3 - 3:00 p.m.

Shai Wosner has been rightly called by the Financial Times "an artist to follow keenly.” A deep-thinking pianist whose repertoire ranges from Bach to Ligeti, he is the winner of an 2005 Avery Fisher Career Grant and a 2005 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. In September 2007, he was named to the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist program, which supports the development of young talent. The Israeli pianist studied in Tel Aviv before moving to New York to complete his studies with Emanuel Ax. Since making his Carnegie Hall debut with the Chicago Civic Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim in 2000, he has performed to acclaim with major orchestras nationwide. A former Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Two member, he is active as a chamber musician, appearing regularly at festivals in La Jolla, Seattle, and Vail and touring with various colleagues.
