The Frederic Chopin Socia Celebrating Our 26th Season

MISHA DACIC

Sunday, October 2 – 3:00 p.m. | Sundin Music Hall

Serbian pianist Misha Dacić was born in 1978 in the former Yugoslavia. Early training at the Arts Academy of Novi Sad was followed by five years with Lazar Berman in Imola, Italy and eventually undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Miami. Since his American debut on the Miami International Piano Festival in 2003, he has played on such series as Ravinia's Rising Stars, the Gilmore Festival’s Rising Stars, and the Chopin Society in Minnesota (2005). He has participated in a variety of collaborative settings, including the Tango Project of pianist/composer Pablo Ziegler and last season with violinist Ida Haendel at the Myra Hess Tribute of the War Concerts in London. During the Liszt Bicentennial Year, he shares that composer’s world with audiences in Europe, Turkey, and the U.S. This will be Dacić’s second appearance with the Chopin Society.

Rafal Blechacz

"Dacić’s display of power and sheer technique at ever-accelerating tempos was stunning and devilish…he is a seasoned pianist with mature interpretive instincts."
